Draw-Up Stitch Sweater :):):)

Yay! A new sweater. :):) And it fits perfectly, how exciting!!

It's called the Petit Four Pullover by Heather Zoppetti and it's found in the Interweave Fall 2012 magazine.

I used Mirasol Nuna yarn (5 skeins dk purple, 1 skein lt purple). I shortened the sleeves to 3/4 length and added about 2-3 inches in the torso.

It's great because it's knit top-down and you can try it on as you go. :)

New Dress!

I like this one a lot. Can't wait to wear it! I did make a lot of changes, though. I shortened the dress by about 4". Also, I shortened the straps by about 6" each and the off the shoulder straps by about 2" each. I shortened the off-the-shoulder straps by cutting them and then sewing them in the back of the dress like you sew the rest of the dress...it made shortening them easy because you can see all the seams anyways! I also made the regular straps straight instead of pull to one side so that you don't see my bra straps.

This one is Vogue 1280, I used a 2 way stretch fabric from Haberman's.

And then the real version:

And then...the real version! I'm super happy with how it turned out and Mom is, too. :)

Oooh la la skirt!

Just finished this super cute skirt! The bottom ruffle took forever, though. It ended up with 1305 stitches on the needles!!

Matt's Lunch Bag!

I made this lunch bag for Matt since he has no fridge or microwave at work. He wanted it to say Jeep on it, seeing that he work at Chrysler and all....

The pattern is from a Blog here.

My only complaint is that it's a little bit small for an adult lunchbag. Other than that, it's awesome!

Ooooh!!

I finished my Olympic project!!!!

And it's GORGEOUS! And I love it! HEHE

Pattern: Botanica Medallion Cardigan on the cover of Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2009
Needles: US 4 & US 5
Yarn: Viking of Norway Milk & Honey, 5 skeins
Notes: LOVE this!!!!! This yarn feels magnifiscent to wear. When I sewed the armholes, I sewed them slightly higher than the halfway point..I think it fit a little better that way. :)

Crochet Jacket!

Just finished this BEAUTIFUL crochet jacket!! I'm super excited about it..especially because it's crochet! Yay!

Pattern: Nocita, published in Schulana Spring/Summer 2011
Size: I made the smallest size
Hook: Actually, I used a size B..I must be a really loose crocheter!
Yarn: 16 skeins of Classic Elite Solstice in white
Notes: lengthened the garment by 1 pattern repeat. I also added 1 double crochet to start the sleeves and then 4 extra single crochet rows to make the sleeves longer.

I made shorts! (and a cowl)

Pattern: M5391
Fabric: Some really cheap, somewhat stretchy stuff from Haberman's. This was meant to be my wearable muslin.
Size: I made a 10
Alterations: The ONLY thing I added were 2 small darts in the back waist band so it would fit a bit more snug. I wanted to make it exactly as written because this is my muslin-hence the cheapo fabric. I do have some things I would change for next time. The pockets are gaping a lot. Some other reviewer said to use stay tape (I think..I have to look that up again) to fix the gaping. I would also add a button hole above the zipper instead of the hook & eye. It just seems like the hook & eye isn't strong enough for such a highly used area. The leg openings are the perfect width. The fit is really pretty good and I'm happy with the outcome. Maybe next time, I could also add a back pocket.

Pocket gaping:

See...the hook & eye in this picture:

Oh, and I also finished a cowl!!

Pattern: Willow Cowl
Needles: US size 3
Yarn: Ella Rae Lace Merino
Notes: No notes really..cute cowl. I didn't do the 6th lace repeat..since I'm not very big, I thought it would be too much.
